Optimal Design of Hemispherical 7-Hole Probe Tip With Perpendicular Holes

The 7-hole probe measurement system is mainly used to measure three-dimensional flow fields. During the measurement, head was in direct contact with measured object, and structure had a significant influence on accuracy of field measurement. main influencing factors were hole opening mode, position, diameter. For hemispherical perpendicular forward-facing holes, orthogonal experiments three levels (inflow velocity, diameter) designed, additional conducted factors. importance evaluated based correlation between different structural parameters pressure coefficient. experiment simulated using FLUENT, numerical simulation results demonstrated that square deviance at inlet diameter, position 0.0018, 0.0013, 0.3611, respectively. has results, but inflow velocity diameter negligible, coefficient smallest when 45°. forward facing hole, best approximately 45°, considering convenience processing, can be selected as 1/10 probe.
